Why is it important to wear a Sunscreen ?

I’m sure you all will agree with me when I say, “Stepping out in the sun is such a concern nowadays.” Don’t you?

” USE A SUNSCREEN BEFORE STEPPING OUT “

We’ve heard this a lot; well, most of you probably have.

Yet there are a lot of people who aren’t following it or even aware of its necessity.

But, How many of us do really understand the importance of wearing a sunscreen?

There’s a very simple explanation for this yet lots of people disregard it as not too important.

Our planetary sunscreen, the Ozone Layer protected us from harmful UV rays that penetrate living cells & damage vital DNA molecules. But now, it has been slowly depleting over the years and harmful rays are now reaching the planet’s surface to us. There are two types of UV rays – 1. UVA, It causes premature ageing & Melanoma (a deadly skin cancer); and 2. UVB, It causes dark spots, sunburns and other types of skin cancers.

The sun doesn’t take a break, so it’s very important to protect your skin and keep those fine lines at bay. Overexposure to harmful UVA & UVB Rays is the cause of skin damage, ageing, spots, skin darkening and skin cancer; and not just getting tanned in the process.

Here comes in the cosmetic sunscreen which functions as portable & temporary ozone layer for you while you are exposed to the sun. Please be very careful & do include this as a vital part of your daily routine and always apply on all exposed skin 15-20 minutes before sun exposure. This is gonna be your personal ozone layer till the scientists have patched up the natural one.

So, Please don’t step out in the sun without wearing a sunscreen at any cost as UVA damage is not reversible.

I use this sunscreen by #VLCCindia as it is a blend of 10 natural ingredients providing gentle natural care to my skin.

A pleasantly fragrant, non-sticky Ayurveda product, VLCC Matte Look Sun Screen Lotion is a broad spectrum sunscreen which is my portable Ozone Layer. It provides long duration protection from both UVA & UVB rays and leaving your skin soft & supple while providing a matte finish.

For me, it’s just the right sunscreen to protect my skin & myself from sun damage and I’m sure you would also agree to include it as a part of your routine.

Take Care & Seasons Wishes to All of You Beautiful People.

Review + Benefits + Uses

Jojoba Oil also known as Green Gold, is one amongst my favorites wishlist, as its really light and suits all skin types. It is indeed a blessing because of its richness in vitamins & minerals. Its enriched with Vitamin- E , B- Complex, zinc, copper, selenium, chromium & iodine.

I’ve always been fascinated with oils and have been trying out all sorts of varieties, so I recently ordered this 100% Pure Jojoba Oil by @satthwa from Amazon. I received the product on time, well packed & sealed, in a 50 ML bottle with a Screw-on Cap & an Easy-to-Pour-Flip-Cap along with it. It’s a great oil with good qualities at such an affordable price. It applies easily with significant moisture retention and high nourishing properties. It absorbs deeply and reasonably quickly into the skin. It is non-sticky, odorless and my skin felt wonderfully hydrated & soft. It lasts up to 8 hours after applying it.

Daily Skincare Routine

 2017-09-23-16-40-20-646-02.jpg

“I’m working on myself, for myself, by myself.”

Hey lovely people,

As promised, Today’s post is going to be about skin care routine and a lot of our lifestyle choices that contribute to the way we look. Choosing good products is definitely important, but it should also come from within. If we are not maintaining a healthy lifestyle, no matter how good or expensive skincare products we invest in, it’s not going to give you the desired results. We are what we eat, drink and “How our daily lifestyle choices affect our skin” is what we are going to be discussing today :

Eat Healthy

Yeah I know, we all love snacking and eating out. And it’s perfectly fine if done in moderation. Regularly eating junk or missing out on greens and vitamin rich foods, will eventually make our skin look dull. So choose and plan out your regular diet. Trust me you will see good results.

Drink Plenty of Water

This comes from my own experience, I used to buy all kinds to products, but never got the results that I was looking for. So, I chose and designated a drinking bottle just for my use and I started keeping tabs on how much water I drank in a day. Some of my friends and relations used to laugh at me that why am I so obsessed with drinking water all day. But they were amazed when they saw the results. My skin looked & felt better and more clear, without putting on a lot of makeup. This change definitely paid off.

Exfoliate Twice A Week

Uneven skin tones are often a result of dead skin on parts of the body that we are unable to /do not exfoliate properly. It is not just the face that requires to be beautiful, it’s your whole body as there is dead skin all over our body. Exfoliation twice a week is the ideal frequency for this part of our skin care routine. I follow this religiously every single week to get rid of dead skin and to get an increase in blood circulation, giving it a healthy, natural glow. But do not over do it as that will strip away your natural body oils and damage your skin.

Cleanse Regularly, Daily

Never forget to properly cleanse your skin before applying your skin care products and after removing makeup. Cleansing removes toxins, impurities, bacteria, dead skin, thus keeping it more fresh. The results of your make up will also be better. Always keep in mind to remove makeup and cleanse no matter what. Never sleep with makeup on your skin as it will contribute to your aging process. A good hygiene is a must, so follow a regular before & after Cleansing Routine.

Tone Your Skin

Toning your skin is essential to get rid of clogged pores, acne prone skin. It balances our skin to be less prone to oiliness and infection. Prepares our skin to be moisturized especially after removing heavy makeup. If you follow it up after a good cleansing routine it will not harm your skin, in fact it revitalizes your skin making it more soft and radiant, restores skin’s pH balance and shrinks pores as well. Dabur Gulabari Rose Water is my All-time favorite skin toner. Its fragrance is awesome.

Moisturize Regularly

You might not realize it today, but the benefits of moisturizing your skin will be visible in years to come. No matter what type of skin you have, Dry or Oily, keep it hydrated at all times if you wish to look and stay younger. Always try to put on a moisturizer right after you have had your bath, on a little damp skin as it helps to lock in the moisturize and also absorbs it better. I use Bio Care Aloe Vera Gel foe my face and Nivea Smooth Milk Body Lotion as a regular moisturizer.

Sleep 6 to 8 Hours

Getting 6 to 8 hours of sleep is important for a good physical health, well being and help in repairing, regenerating our skin. The amount of sleep we get affects our day to day lives, our energy level and our appearance. Getting a good beauty sleep has become an integral par of our skincare regime. A well rested body will look good and perform better.

DIY Natural Apple Skin Peel

What is it?

Apples contain fruit acids that are called Alpha Hydroxy Acids(AHA). These acids exhibit natural ability to excellently exfoliate cells, accelerate cell renewal, stimulate cell metabolism, synthesis of collagen, elastin and other components, change acidity of the skin, influence process of skin keratinization.

Why does it work?

When used in higher concentration levels above 20%, These acids are able to act not only on the upper layer of the skin, but also penetrate into its deeper layer. It is one of the main anti-aging methods to prolong the youth of our skin, stimulate the removal of epidermis and helps get rid of dead cells.

Multiple application of fruit acids enhances exfoliation of dead layers of skin which means that it can eliminate some skin defects such as redness, roughness, acne and spots due to acne. Fruit acids are able to induce swelling of skin cells & inter-cellular substance, thus increasing its elasticity and reducing visible wrinkles.

How to Use It?

Either you can use fresh cut slices of the fruit and rub it directly on your skin and rinse or you could try out this easy DIY Natural Skin Peel. I tried it and liked it very much.

What does Amla do for Hair?

Hey friends, Welcome back to my blog.

I know I’ve been pretty irregular during the past couple of weeks. Forgive me for I was taking care of my pet Golden ‘Alvin’, who hasn’t been doing well (he’s six) ever since he got invaded by the dreaded 4-letter vermin. Its not so much an easy task having a golden retriever in your household. Well now he’s so much better and now I am back where my much needed blog needs attention.2017-07-29-19-52-37-986

This might bring certain fond memories for quite a lot of us Indians. Remember Dabur Amla Hair Oil! Most of you would recognize it from your childhood when you would have seen your granny, mom or elder sisters using it for their hair or massaging yours on the weekends. Even my husband & his family have used it for many years. The Indian Gooseberry is the most commonly utilized fruit in the households of India because of its extensive health, beauty, skin & hair care benefits and medicinal properties for long years. This Superfruit is now easily available across the globe thanks to eCommerce and global shipping.

You guessed it right, this time I am going to tell you about the benefits of the Indian Gooseberry (Amla) for Hair. Amla is among the richest sources of Natural Vitamin C in the world. It is a perfect example of an highly potent and nutritious edible fruit rich in Phenols & Tannins. It contains essential fatty acids, which strengthen hair follicles. It contains a plethora of antioxidants such as Ellagic, Emblicanin, Gallic, Phyllantine and Quercetin acid. Amla also contains a high concentration of minerals, amino acids, as well as strong immune boosting properties. As an antioxidant, it is more than fifteen times powerful than a Pomegranate or double of that of an Acai berry. This indigenous fruit has extensive adaptability to grow in diverse climatic and soil conditions. The fruit exhibits anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties and is highly acidic and astringent as well.

Did you know that deficiency of Vitamin C, which is found abundantly in Amla, is one of the most common reason for hair problems. This fruit is also one of the most easiest and powerful solution to most of the hair problems. With this fruit you need not worry about how to avail its benefits. Today, I’m going to let you in on how Amla is useful for your hair care. Amla is not just used for general hair care but also as an amazing restorative with curing properties. You can avail various benefits from Amla in form of powder, juice, fruit preserve, as a single ingredient or mix/pack combined with couple of locally & home available products. The application depends on what form of Amla you can lay your hands on.
