Savory Masala Pancakes

Hey Everyone,

Weekends are the perfect time to chill. Mostly I look for something quick ‘n easy yet tasty, that can save my time, plus it should not be unhealthy for my family.

Here’s a quick healthy recipe that you can enjoy anytime…

Let’s start…

For the Batter

Finely Chopped Green Chilli (as per taste)

Finrly Chopped Ginger (as per taste)

Finely Chopped Garlic (as per taste)

Cumin Seeds – 1 Tsp

Olive Oil – 3 Tbsp

Wheat Flour – 1 Cup

Eggs – 2


Salt (as per taste)

Pepper  (as per taste)

In 2Tbsp oil saute cumin seeds first, wait until they sputter, then add ginger garlic & green chillies. Saute till golden brown. Keep aside.

Take wheat flour add the sauteed mix to it. Mix well. Add eggs, 1 tbsp olive oil, salt & pepper and mix again. Now add milk little by little to it & make a smooth dripping batter. Do keep in mind that it should not be too thick. It should be able to spread out on the pan.

For the Stuffing

Mustard Seeds – 1 Tsp

Potato – 2 Boiled (Sliced)

Onion – 1 Thinly sliced

Boiled Corn – 1/2 Cup

Dry Masala

Garam Masala – 1 Tsp

Turmeric Powder – 1 Tsp

Red Chilli Powder – 1 Tsp

Salt  (as per taste)


Take a pan, heat oil, add mustard seeds & once they start to sputter, add onions. Saute for a minute and add Corn, Potato, add Dry Masala & Salt to it.

Take a flat griddle, add a little olive oil, spread the pancake mix evenly, flip it after its cooked nicely from one side. Remove it from flame & spread a little stuffing on one edge, rolling it gently and tightly.

Your Pancake is ready, Serve hot with Green Chutney.

Sweet Potato Pilaf

Sauteed Sweet Potato Rice cooked using Tomatoes, Onions & Indian Spices in Extra Virgin Olive Oil

You may use any oil you prefer, I find Extra Virgin Olive Oil by Del Monte is the best variety for Healthy Indian style cooking. 

Pilaf = Pulao


Rice Long Grain              – 2 cups, Washed, Soaked & Drained

Sweet Potato                    – 3 Medium Size Pcs, Diceddiced-sweet-potatoes

Onion                               – 3 Medium Size Pcs, Thinly Sliced

Tomato                             – 2 Medium Size, Pureed

Curd                                 – 1/4 Cup

Olive Oil                          – 2 Tbsp

Garam Masala Powder    – as per taste

Red Chilli Powder           – as per taste

Turmeric Powder             – as per taste

Salt                                   – as per taste

Water                                – 2 Cups, Filtered/Purified

Dry Masala:

                   Bay Leaf – 1 Pcsthinly-sliced-onions

                   Black Peppercorn – 3 Pcs

                   Cumin seeds – 1 Tsp

                   Cloves – 2 Pcs

Optional Garnish – Fresh Cilantro (Coriander Leaves)

  • Heat Olive oil in a pressure cooker,
  • Add the Dry Masala, let it splutter,
  • Once spluttering goes down, add onions and sweet potato to it,
  • Fry well until the onions start turning brown,
  • Add Salt, Turmeric, Red Chilli & Garam Masala Powder to it,
  • Keep mixing well, till onions are finally brown
  • and now, add tomato puree to it,
  • Keep flame medium till gravy is properly cooked (when oil separates)
  • Now add curd, cook for another five minutes,
  • Add rice, 2 cups of water, let it cook for two whistles and
  • Transfer contents to serving bowl or rice plate,


Garnish with Fresh Cilantro (as you like it)
Voila, Sweet Potato Rice is ready for the table.
Serve Hot with chilled Curd or Raita as an accompaniment.

How To Make Apple Sauce at Home

Let’s make some Apple Sauce today.

We all love apples  Red, Green, Golden, Kashmiri, and so many more varieties.

Today I’m gonna let you in on a treat for your taste buds and your skin as well…



4 Apples

3/4 Cup Water

1/4 Cup White Sugar

1/2 Tsp Cinnamon Powder


  • Deseed, Peel & Finely Chop all the apples.
  • In a saucepan,  mix remaining ingredients well and add the apples to it.
  • Cover & Cook this on medium heat for 15-20 minutes.
  • Apples will become soft, turn off flame and allow to cool.
  • Transfer contents to a blender and blend till you get smooth saucy consistency.
  • Store In fridge
  • Enjoy delicious and slightly spiced Apple Sauce with your favorite dessert.

Spinach Macaroni with Cheese

Today I’m presenting you all with an opportunity that shows you all how to make healthy recipe that’s simply just yummy and that too pretty easy to prepare. Now I’ve used a little cheese to add to the flavor and to keep my self from splurging too much, but then what’s a macaroni dish without cheese !! 🙂

Prep Time: 15- 20 Minutes

Bake Time: 20 Minutes

Servings: Serves 3

Spinach Macaroni with Cheese


Macaroni                                2 Cups

Cheese (your choice)            2 Cubes, 25gms each

Whole Wheat Flour              1 Tbsp

Milk                                          1 Cup

Honey Mustard Dressing     2 Tbsp

Olive Oil                                   1 Tbsp

Garlic                                        10 Cloves, Finely chopped

Spinach                                     1 Cup, Finely chopped

Black Pepper                            To Taste  IMG_20170731_231358

Chilli Flakes                             To Taste

Salt                                             To Taste

Oregano                                    To Taste

Basil                                           To Taste


  • Boil water in a pan and add a few drops of Oil and salt to it, add macaroni and cook till its done. Strain with running water and keep aside.
  • Heat remaining oil in a pan, add garlic cloves, saute for a few seconds, add wheat flour, saute just for five seconds and add milk to it. Keep on stirring, add 1 Cheese Cube, Honey Mustard Dressing, Black Pepper, Salt, Chilli Flakes, Oregano & Basil.
  • Cook the sauce till it thickens. Keep a little spinach aside for garnish and add remaining spinach to the sauce, cook for about two minutes. You can add more milk  to adjust consistency according your choice.
  • Turn off the flame. Grease the baking dish & mix Macaroni with sauce, Garnish with some chopped spinach & grated Cheese cube (the remaining 2ndCube) .
  • Bake at 225°C for 20 minutes.  Serve hot and enjoy!!
